We are happy to announce as part of our project three St. John's Baptism Rolls dating have been recently conserved and will be available for viewing at our final project exhibition during April 2019 at Great Yarmouth Library.
The Baptism Rolls, pictured below (before conservation), list baptisms held at St. Johns Church from the 1920s and 1930s. The rolls have been digitally transcribed for easy reading and referencing, see Transcriptions for more details.
Conservation of the St. John's Baptism Rolls is now complete. This makes a total of 10 items conserved by the project, thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding. The following images feature a local paper conservator surveying the Baptism Rolls prior to conservation.
See images below of the newly conserved Baptism Rolls. The original Baptism Rolls will be available for viewing at our final project exhibition from Tuesday 23rd April - Wednesday 1st May at Great Yarmouth Library 11am-2pm daily (except Sundays).
The Baptism Rolls are handwritten lists of Baptisms held at St. John's Church, Great Yarmouth from 1928-1933. A full digital transcription of these rolls are available on request from Stories of St. John's Project Co-ordinator Carol Desborough at Carol.gypt@gmail.com
